Co-founders Carly Zakin and Danielle Weisberg, two former news producers who launched theSkimm in 2012, aim to “make you smarter throughout your day on everything from tax policies to how to fold a fitted sheet. All delivered through the routines that make up your life.”

theSkimm started with the Daily Skimm, the fastest growing email newsletter on the market, and currently has an engaged community of approximately 7 million Daily Skimm subscribers. It has since expanded to include a variety of product offerings including theSkimm app, Skimm Studies, Skimm Reads, Skimm Picks, and Skimm Notes. theSkimm’s production arm, Skimm Studios, develops and creates new and innovative video and audio content and original programming including the new podcast “Skimm’d from The Couch.”

Expanding on the company’s mission to mobilize and educate their highly-engaged audience, theSkimm launched the No Excuses campaign surrounding the 2016 Presidential election and helped register more than 110,000 Americans to vote. theSkimm has an active community of 30,000 brand representatives across the country.
