Sightglass Coffee began as an aspiration to source, produce, and share exceptional coffee, served a cup at a time.

Siblings Justin Morrison and Jerad Morrison launched Sightglass in 2009 from a two-man cart outside a warehouse on Seventh Avenue in San Francisco. They named their brand after the part on a coffee roasting machine that provides a view of the complex process that turns raw, green beans into America’s favorite beverage. Sightglass steadily built a cult following and has been expanding ever since.

Sightglass now operates a roastery, coffee bar, and community meeting space inside that warehouse where the Morrison brothers first parked their cart. They have also opened four other store locations around San Francisco, including a coffee bar in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.  Sightglass also hosts an e-commerce site selling its specialty roasts and coffee-making accessories.

The brothers personally source the beans that go into Sightglass’ signature grinds from a variety of growers and farmers around the globe and are committed to promoting sustainable growing methods and fair trade that benefits local growers and their communities.

We’re proud that Sightglass was one of GingerBread Capital’s first investments, and it remains our Number One Coffee of Choice!
