Its motto is simple: Better doesn’t have to cost more. Brandless makes and sells home and health products under its own label. Its mission: to democratize access to high-quality products at simple, fair prices, by cutting out the middleman and eliminating unnecessary markups. The digital retailer leverages community-informed data and machine learning to offer hundreds of low-priced, better-for-you, everyday essentials from organic, non-GMO food to clean beauty and personal care products, pet supplies, non-toxic cleaners and home goods.
With offices in Minneapolis and San Francisco, Brandless was launched by co-founders Tina Sharkey and Ido Leffler in the summer of 2017 with a selection of 115 items, most priced at $3. Its product offerings and categories continue to grow, based on the recommendations of its customers. (After introducing baby products and pet food, its highest price point is now $9.) It also offers customers subscriptions and exclusive content about beauty, cooking and household tips.
