San Mateo, Calif.—GingerBread Capital LLC (GBC), a venture capital fund that makes investments in women founders of high-growth-potential businesses, is pleased to announce that Katherine Rice has joined the GingerBread Capital investment team as Partner.
Katherine brings a strong track record of building multi-channel lifestyle brands in the home furnishings, apparel, food and beverage, and health and wellness sectors. Through her experience as an Operating Partner of private equity fund Altamont Capital Partners, and as CEO of her own business, Rice Advisory Corp., Katherine has significant experience sourcing, financing and partnering with a wide range of growth companies.

In addition to her role at GingerBread Capital, Katherine was most recently named by President Joe Biden to serve on the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships. Katherine is one of 22 commissioners appointed by the President who recommend candidates for the White House Fellows program, which provides young Americans with the experience of working at the highest levels of the federal government.
Previously, Katherine led business development as a senior executive with Williams-Sonoma, Inc., where she incubated new global businesses, structured partnerships and drove strategic initiatives across channels and brands.
Earlier in her career, Katherine was a manager at Bain & Company, partnering with clients in the private equity, retail and consumer industries. She began her career in investment banking at Kidder, Peabody in New York. With extensive advisory and corporate board experience, she currently serves on the boards of Sightglass Coffee and Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.

A native of Texas, Katherine currently lives in Mill Valley, CA. She holds an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University.
